MARKFIELD 10 K ( LRRL Winter Series )
On Sunday 27th January 15 Harborough members attended the Markfield 10K at Markfield. This was an great turn out for the second of the LRRL Winter League races of 9 men and 6 ladies of which one was a first time runner in this series. On the day there were 488 runners (328 men / 160 ladies) who completed the course. The course is an undulating one with a nice climb towards the end of the race through the village of Markfield. The weather was good quite warm in the sun but we still had the wind in places to battle with. Our first male runner home was Kyle Barber in 38.25 and the first lady home was Traci Edwards in 50.23. In the menís race Richard Bufton was 2nd home for Harborough followed by Grahame Rolfe. Adi King was competing in his first LRRL race and had a great race. In the ladies race Ruth Bingham was 2nd home for Harborough followed by Leanne Brooks. I hope to see you all running again at the next race which is the Ashby 5 on Sunday 10th February, and anyone else who wishes to run are more than welcome Ė the more the better whatever standard you think you are.
