Last weekend saw 13 athletes take part in the Northants Network 5k Series with the first race being held at The Cube in Corby. Regarded as a fast course, fast times and pb potential were on the cards (the winning time being 0:15:06 by Dan Hallam).
Sean Fenwick lead the club home in 3rd (0:16:35) also winning the Vet 40 category with Andy Meads close behind in 5th (0:16:48) placing 3rd in the senior men category. Adam Brooks returning from injury made a fine performance placing 18th (0:18:00) with Lizzie Clapp winning the Under 13 age category in 47th (0:20:54). Hannah Stewart was next in 68th (0:23:35) followed home by Rick Brown (71st 0:23:34), Karen Brooks (72nd 0:23:35), Chris Loake (74th 0:23:35), Lin Farrow (90th 0:25:03), Theresa Brown (135th 0:29:52), Natalie (136th 0:30:05) and Michelle Ives (137th 0:30:05) and Yvonne Barber (141st 0:30:31).

Meanwhile in the very picturesque setting of Druridge Bay Country Park, Tony Harrsion was competing in the half marathon (with the same name) over a demanding two lap course filled with sand dunes and trail paths. This didnít deter Tony as he finished in a creditable time of 01:42:44 in 30th (115 finished).
This Tuesday (19th April) is the second open meeting for Corby AC being held at the Rockingham Triangle Stadium. Events include 75m (u11), 100m, 150m (u11), 200m, 600m, 1000m and 2000m. All entries on the day are £3 for first event, £2 for second, third is free. The first event starts at 19:00.
On Sunday 24th April a certain popular well known marathon is taking place. Wonder what that could be? Of course, itís the London Marathon. We wish all the best to those who are taking part.
Also on the same day is the Beacon Bunny Run. A 5km or 10km off road event at Woodhouse Eaves, Loughborough. Full details found on their website.
