Braving the tail end of Storm Brian six club members made the journey to Saturdays Midlands cross country relays at Wolverhampton, with the fast flowing two lapped, 6Km parkland course proving an interesting challenge in the blustery wet conditions. In the menís race Matt Driver led the team out with an impressive Leg A run taking 13th in 0:21:48, Leg B runner Nick Pollard also had a fine race with a time of 0:23:15, before passing on to Adam Eales clocking 0:24:38 and finally Martin Gore on Leg D anchoring the team well with a 0:24:28 split. The team finished 17th in 01:27:01 of the 56 teams competing on the day.

Simultaneously in the senior ladiesí race, the club were unfortunately one runner short of fielding a complete team with the duo of Sarah Ward & Karen Brooks. Sarah took Leg A honours and stopped the clock at 0:28:06 for 13th place, while Karen improved a place finishing 12th in 0:29:37.

On Sunday Adam Brooks & Dean Rushby took on the Stuart Learmouth memorial Undulator Fell Race in Wirksworth, one of the oldest towns in the Peak District. The classic fell race covers 8.4 miles incorporating 1260ft of ascent over a mix of off-road, trail and lanes, offering a tough challenge to all those that take part. This year 161 runners made the finish line with Adam in 22nd posting 01:09:18 and Dean Rushby 92nd with 01:25:02.
