HAC competing in the Battle of Brampton Valley Way

Some of our club members took part in the inaugural Battle of Brampton Valley Way at the weekend. The race was organised by the Race Harborough team and covered 28 miles or 45km – so officially an ultra distance – up and back the traffic-free Brampton Valley Way with starters from both Market Harborough and Northampton.

Bob Allsopp led the way for the club finishing in a speedy 3:39:35 and impressive 17th place, clocking a marathon PB along the way. There were outstanding performances from all of our runners including Rich Hudson (21st/3rd M50-54 in 3:46:51), Nick Osborne (25th/4th M50-54 in 3:48:43), Dan Perrin (39th/4th M45-49 in 4:02:35), Simon Dowling (97th/7th M50-54 in 4:43:15), Hazel O’Connell (111th/3rd F45-49 in 4:51:11), Tracy Southwell (139th/3rd F50-54 in 5:44:47), Ian Southwell (107th/10th M45-49 in 4:49:21) and Kevin Dinsdale (112th/8th M50-54 in 4:51:18). Kevin was injured and struggling to walk only a few weeks ago so showed amazing effort and determination to complete such a challenge. We’ll gloss over the fact that Northampton won the inter-town battle… You can see the full results here BBOVW 2021 04 18 Results
