Athletes of the Month for May
Seniors – Pam Hilliam
The senior Athlete of the Month for May is the inexhaustible Pam Hilliam. At the tender age of 75, Pam set a new PB in the 100m at a recent Vets League match in Nuneaton. Her time ranked her number 1 in GB (yes, Great Britain!) for her age group – meaning that she is now ranked number 1 at three different distances: 100m, 200m and 3000m.
Pam has been a stalwart at the club for many years, trying her hand at all events and is always willing to go the extra mile for the track and field team. Congratulations Pam, you’re a great inspiration to us all.
Juniors – Eki Iyasere
Our Junior Athlete of the Month for May is Eki Iyasere. She joined her sister at the club in October 2020 not long after her 8th birthday. She is our youngest member and is always full of energy and enthusiasm. A regular at Monday training, Eki also attends the Saturday morning track sessions at Kettering Harriers and gives some of our senior athletes a run for their money!
Eki competed for the first time at Kettering Open Meeting in April in the 75-metre sprint and more recently at the first event for Quadkids Athletics, where she competed in 4 events – 75-metre sprint, throw, standing jump and 600 metre middle distance race.
