At the next AGM in November we will be looking for replacements for the following Committee positions:

  • Coach Co-ordinator.
  • Treasurer.
  • Men’s Team Captain (Road and xc).
  • Women’s Team captain (Road and xc).

If you’re interested in any of the roles above or would like some more information, please contact Jill or Howard

For the Coach Co-ordinator role vacated by David Ward (who will remain an active coach), the main duties involved organising the weekly training groups and matching with available coaches. You’ll assist with coach registration and development, ensuring the club has sufficient capacity and brings in new recruits as appropriate.

As the representative of the coaches on the committee, you’ll agree the subsidy/payment of coaching fees on their behalf and discuss, agree and plan targeted training programmes. You’ll be on top of the status of the coaching team and making sure all EA requirements are up-to-date including License, DBS, First Aid, H&S and Safeguarding.

In addition, you’ll plan and chair coaches meetings, actively encourage CPD and implement new training initiatives and specialist coaching where appropriate.

We’ve mentioned the Treasurer position before and would love to hear from anyone with experience of bookkeeping or accountancy who is interested.

The Club Treasurer is responsible for managing the flow of money into the club and for allocating and recording how that money is spent. This is a vital role as the Treasurer works to ensure the club is able to meet its day-to-day expenses. The role has been revolutionised by the introduction of ClubPal and there’s potential for even further automation.

The Treasurer also works in conjunction with the committee in planning the development of the club by creating annual budgets, estimating funds required for a capital project like a new facility and projecting membership and income for future years to contribute towards prudent planning of the club’s future.
