The first North Mids XC League Race took place at Markeaton Park, Derby on 15 October. The course conditions were perfect on the day although the course itself was a real challenge but that did not prevent a fantastic all-round individual and team performance from the 17 club members who crossed the finishing line. In particular a special mention to seven members of the club who signed up for the 10K xc training programme in August – all those hill sessions on a Tuesday evening definitely paid off! Well done to Ursula Stevens, Madeleine Stevens, Ashley Wright, Sonia White, Toni Merriman, Anton McCalla and Emma Klimowicz. Cross country is not an event for a PB but everyone on the day was a winner.
The next league race is just round the corner at West Glebe Park in Corby on Saturday 12 November. Remember it’s open to all age groups and could be the ideal way to run off the previous night’s Awards Dinner! Book on ClubPal.
